Medellin

Medellin is the birthplace of the artist Botero. His sculptures decorate a park in the city center.

One of them, the 'bird of peace', was destroyed by a bomb blast, which killed many people. Botero made a new copy and placed it besides the destroyed sculpture.

The 'Metrocable', an extension of the metro train, provides transport into the slums at the edge of the city.
